Authentic Austrian beef goulash is also known as "Wiener Saftgulasch" which translates to something like "Viennese gravy goulash", highlighting the thick gravy base. Whereas Hungarian-style goulash like gulyás or pörkölt is often soupy and contains bell peppers or potatoes, the Viennese-style goulash only contains beef and onions. In slow cooker, mix beef and remaining ingredients except water, flour and noodles. Ground Beef Goulash might be the easiest, family-pleasing meal of all time. The combination of ground beef, tomatoes, elbow macaroni and a handful of other easy ingredients comes together to create the perfect marriage of flavors.
